About Tollare

Tollare Folk High School is located in a manor house at Värmdön, ten kilometres east of Stockholm. Around the main building down towards Skurusundet is a dining room, gymnasium, gym with free weights and exercise machines, sauna, exercise trails, a soccer field, a bowling alley and a “confidence track”.

Tollare is a boarding school with year-long courses for about 120 students. There is also room for distance courses, short courses and conferences.

Tollare is owned and operated by IOGT-NTO, a temperance organization. The school therefore offers a unique free zone, where the freedom from alcohol and other drugs is natural and obvious.

Directions

Metro/bus

From Stockholm’s central station, take the subway to Slussen. From the platform a staircase leads down to Värmdöbussarna. The buses to Tollare Folk High School go from there.

Take bus 414 or bus 442 (motorway bus).

You get off at the stop called Tollare. When you get off the bus you go 10 meters to the right and then go down the road to the left. The road turns into walkway and has signs showing the way.

Car

Drive the highway, road 222 through Nacka towards Gustavsberg. Directly after Björknäs Trafikplats/Skurubron you turn right. Follow the sign Tollare/Eknäs to the right. After about 1,600 meters on Sockenvägen, there is a sign showing the way to Tollare Folk High School, to the right before the John Petri school.

Surroundings

In the surroundings of Tollare there are good opportunities to stroll, run, enjoy the view of Lännerstasundet and take a dip or sunbathe on the rocks.
